In March 2022, Vektor’s Principal Ezgi Karayel participated as a panelist at a successful event focused on leadership and career development for women in the environmental sector. The event was moderated by Lina Rivetti, a student at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and recipient of an NJSWEP scholarship. The panel featured prominent speakers, including Schenine Mitchell from USEPA Region 2, Candace Baker of Langan Engineers, Linda Shaw, Esq., and Ezgi Karayel of Vektor Consultants.
Several key topics, such as the inherent qualities of strong leaders, self-advocacy for women in the workforce, shifting career trajectories, work-life balance, and the differences between the public and private sectors were discussed. The panel also touched on the importance of mentorship, marketing, and offered inspirational advice for women aspiring to leadership roles in the environmental industry.
