Ezgi Karayel's Remarks at the 13th Annual Big Apple Brownfield Awards

At the 13th Annual Big Apple Brownfield Awards, Ezgi Karayel, Principal of Vektor Consultants and President of New York City Brownfield Partnership, welcomed attendees to a streamlined ceremony while celebrating the dedication of the New York City Brownfield Partnership (NYCBP) and its collaborators.

She highlighted the tireless efforts of NYCBP alongside organizations like NYSAFAH, REBNY, NYLCV, and BCONE in advocating for a 10-year extension of the Brownfield Cleanup Program amidst an intensely busy year for the industry. The team effort, she noted, was instrumental in navigating challenges such as revisions to Part 375 regulations and the 421A tax program deadline.

Karayel also celebrated the impact of the Partnership's Abbey Duncan Scholarship, which awarded $20,000 to seven students, some of whom were in attendance. She encouraged recipients to connect with industry professionals at the event.

Expressing gratitude to the Partnership’s sponsors and the event organizers—Victoria, Erik, and Erica—she emphasized that the evening’s success would not be possible without their dedication and support.
